CAST – Appropriate Technology Development Centre – is an International Non-Governmental Organization, founded in Italy in 1980 and active in Kenya since 2007 for fostering social and economic development of vulnerable communities in rural areas.
In Italy we work to create awareness on responsible use of natural resources, promoting intercultural education, peace and solidarity.
We believe in a world where everybody can fairly live on his own work, where water, energy and food are available, accessible, safe and secure both in the Southern and Northern part of the planet.
Our mission is cooperation.
Between north and south, between new technologies and traditional methods, between different populations, between people and the environment, between development and sustainability.
Between present and future.
Our main focus is sustainability, promoting appropriate technologies and capacities to support an inclusive, bottom-up development that’s compatible with our planet’s natural resources.
